ok there's no toy story 3 on this list. I saw toy story 3 a few days ago and it is probably the best pixar movie yet. I didnt think a 3rd toy story was a good idea but boy was i wrong. it was so funny especially the ken parts. and did anyone cry? cause i admit i couldnt hold back tears even towards the end. i hope others saw this film, if not your missing out!!!!

Probably cuz the list was made a year ago :p

I've yet to seen the third one
It came out 3 days ago here so I didnt get a chance to see it yet but I will. Promised my kid I was gonna bring him to theaters to see it. I did like the first and second one (1st one was better) And the trailer of the third one didnt look awesome I gotta admit so the only reason Im going is to keep a promise :p
But I do hope its as good as you say

Well, it's a little late, but I have to say that Up was darn near as good as the Incredibles! I was a little put off by the basic idea, but it turned out to be the most emotional film they've made, at least in my opinion.

Also, while I'm talking about this anyway, one of the things I like best about Pixar, besides it's ability to turn ridiculous ideas into incredible stories is there penchat for hilarious one-liners. Such as -

"Ah, but that is nothing compared to the power of wishful thinking!" Ghost Chef Gustou, Ratouille

"The joke is funny because the squirrel got dead!" Doug, Up

"No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay saved! You know, for a little bit? I feel like the maid; I just cleaned up this mess! Can we keep it clean for... for ten minutes!" Mr.Incredible. The Incredibles

I think a lot of the Pixar films had frightening moments. That's part of what makes them so astounding; that they have the balls to do that in films marketed directly to children.

It looks pretty serious...way more mature than you would expect from Pixar, but then again, you could have said the same for WALL-E. I'm definitely interested.

That's true, it does look more grown-up. But, I'm sure Pixar will be able to cater it to the younger audiences as well - no point in closing off that huge demographic. And I still haven't seen WALL-E! That's going to my mental to do list.

You've never seen WALL-E????? That's a travesty, my friend. My favorite Pixar film, and that's REALLY saying something since I love so many of the others. And I'm sure they'll make it kid-friendly. The girl will likely have some sort of cute animal friend following her around or something...but I do love that Pixar is not afraid to use more mature material in it's films.

Well, I'd place WALL-E at about fourth or fifth, but considering what it's up against, that's no insult. You really ought to get it....I mean, even I've watched it by now!

Oh I'm sure the new one will be kid friendly. Forsaken's probably right about there being some cute extra, but I have to wonder how far they'll take the change of tone.

Anyone know when Brave is slated to come out? It's been a while since I've seen a Pixar film in a theater, since I skipped Cars 2...*shudders*

Why'd you skip Cars 2? It hasn't come out here yet, is it really that bad? As for Brave, that was only a teaser trailer, I imagine it'll be 2012 or even 13 before it comes out. That's better of course, quality over quantity and all.

Well, it's not that it was bad, per se....I just never had any interest in seeing Cars to begin with, so I never did. It never seemed like it was up to par with other Pixar films, since it seemed really childish. There was also a lot of backlash against Cars 2 amongst critics and Pixar fans since it seemed more like a cash-cow than anything else. Plus, John Lasseter seems to have broken his "no sequels" promise (excluding Toy Story, apparently). So yeah, maybe it was good, but based on what I've seen of it, I don't think I'm missing anything.

Brave is slated to come out as of June 22, 2012. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Eh, same here actually. The first Cars didn't really catch my interest either. If it hadn't been convenient to get it from the library, I'd have probably skipped it too. It wasn't really bad, but it wasn't original or even particularly fun....not what I'd expect from Pixar

Quote :

Well, technically, the pledge was not to make a sequel unless it could be as good as the original. Thus why Toy Story gets a pass
